How To Determine the thickness of a riving knife for saw blade diameters from 250- 800mm.
Diameter shown is the maximum sawblade diameter that can be used
These steel riving knives are to DIN specification 38820 and can be correctly adjusted in Suva and DIN riving knife holders.
The riving knife thickness (e) must be less than the width of the cut (B) but at least as thick as the saw blade centre (b).
Rule of thumb: e = B+b/2
If the thickness (in mm) required is not available, choose:
the next smaller thickness for saw blades with set teeth the next larger thickness for tungsten-carbide-tipped saw blades
