iTECH 260SS Super Spiral Planer Thicknesser

This proven designed planer & thicknesser has the latest 6 helix Super-Spiral cutter block which makes it very quiet and gives a superb finish on difficult grain timber where conventional cutter blocks would tear the grain. More Knives = More Cuts/ cm = Better finish.

It is especially suited to the small trade workshop or discerning home user. Constructed from cast iron and heavy gauge welded steel, it is robust and has some features that set it apart from the competition. The cast iron surfacing tables are heavily ribbed underneath to maintain flatness and, unusually, both tables are counterbalanced and linked to lift as one unit and have a safety stop latch to hold them securely when thicknessing. Another popular feature on this machine is the fence simplicity: no need to remove it when changing from surface planing to thicknessing.

The 260SS has the highest in-class 66 tungsten knives. These can be rotated 4 times when they get dull. Having a higher knife count also reduced wear on the blades and less power requirement - longer life - less energy is needed per cut. Because the cuts are smaller you will get a better surface finish.
