The Minimax SC3 Classic is a panel scoring saw with a tilting main blade, designed to deliver accurate panel cutting where workshop space is limited. The combination of main and scoring blades ensures clean, chip-free cuts on both faces of veneered or laminated sheet material — a requirement in cabinetmaking and shopfitting environments where surface quality matters. The machine accepts a 315mm blade without the scorer fitted, offering a maximum depth of cut of 100mm, or a 250mm blade when running in conjunction with the 80mm scoring unit at 8000rpm. The main blade spindle runs at 4000rpm. A rigid rip fence mounted on a robust fence rail provides a standard ripping capacity of 900mm to the right of the blade, extendable to 1270mm with the optional fence rail. Maximum squaring capacity is 2250mm. The fixed table measures 840 x 560mm. Power is provided by a 6.6hp motor on a 415V supply. Dust extraction connects via a 120mm outlet on the saw guard, which is mounted on the riving knife as standard. The SCM Class si 400ep is distinguished by its Blade Off safety system — a sensor-based protection mechanism that detects human proximity and retracts the blade within milliseconds, even at feed speeds of up to 2 m/s. Unlike conventional blade-brake systems, Blade Off is non-destructive: following an intervention, the machine can be rearmed without any loss of accuracy or performance. Control is handled by the eye-S 10" touch-screen electronic control panel, which manages main blade lifting, saw blade unit tilting, and parallel fence movement across manual, incremental, semi-automatic, and automatic modes. Electronic speed variation via inverter gives the operator real-time control of blade rpm between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm. Up to 1,000 programmes and 1,000 tool configurations can be stored, each with an associated image for rapid identification. The SCM Thundercut app, compatible with iOS and Android tablets, functions as an optimiser and cut sequencer. Work quotas are acquired automatically from the app into the control, reducing manual input and the risk of programming error. The 3,200 mm aluminium alloy sliding carriage runs on precision arch-formed hardened steel guides fixed to the casting, and carries a 10-year guarantee on the sliding system — a clear statement of confidence in the machine's structural longevity.
